It is important to understand and take into consideration the facts that affect your flight booking process. Some are obvious, but the rest need a deeper understanding.
This cost takes up around 40% of your airlines budget, so an inflated oil market price means an inflated market price.
It is very important to think about your destination when booking a flight. Season impacts your flight greatly. If it is Ramadhan or New Year’s Eve and you are travelling to an Islamic state or the world’s central capitals, you are bound to pay way above the average ticket price. Hence it is extremely important to assess the season and the destination before booking a flight.
Some people think that the number of seats on an airplane affects the cost, but that certainly is not the case. The time of the flight does matter. If you are willing to travel way into the night or very early morning then you are bound to save a few pounds, but sometimes you can pay heavily for a one way trip even if the plane is more or less empty.
There are a lot of classes and sub classes on an airplane. There are a number of facilities and restrictions based on each and every one of them. Some facilities are quantifiable and some are just qualitative. For example: leg space, entertainment sets, flexible menu are all the luxuries you can avail. But certain restrictions or flexibilities like a higher or lower penalty on changing the flight are the luxuries you can’t physically experience in a flight. There are a few non refundable seats on a flight through which the airline covers all its cost, and all other classes after that just add to their revenue.
Charter flights are when the airline buys all the tickets on a flight. This way you do get a discount and bundle deals, but the airline has all the rights to change the details and timings of the flight. If you are not travelling on a tight schedule then this is the way to go, but if your date and time of the flight are crucial then charter flights are not the way to go.
Last minute deals can save you a great deal of money when booking flights, but you should always ask yourself why there is a need for last minute deals. Are people not buying the tickets because of a reason? Why is it so cheap? It is wiser to book your flight in advance and know where you want to go than wait on deals and last minute offers.
This is the most expensive ticket when booking a flight. Sometimes they are more than the usual price and sometimes less, but more often than less it is more than the value of a round ticket.
You should always reconfirm your flights 24 hours before departure to know if the flight timings have changed and always read the fine print before you purchase a ticket to know what exactly you are paying for.
