The debate we’re about to indulge in is never ending, and has been going on for years by now. For all those who can’t afford the luxuries and comforts of the first class flights would naturally be inclined towards economy, thinking it’s merely bells and whistles. However, travelers experiencing the joys and comforts of first class seldom turn back. For them, flying through the economy class is merely a nightmare; congested seat, horrible services and below average food makes the flying experience an unpleasant one.
Although which airline you book an air ticket for merely depends upon one’s personal choices and budget, for a long-haul flight comfort is the prime factor. After all, who would wish to appear ragged and wretched upon reaching their travel destination? Because of these reasons, flying economy can become a huge ordeal for many!
Let’s solve the debate of first class vs. economy to explore the best of both the worlds.
The difference between both the classes is visible at the airport, long before you actually fly. While the economy class passengers pay for fares ideally fitting their budget, first class passengers pay sky high fares regardless of where they’re flying. Because of this major reason, the royalty like treatment begins at the airport. While the economy passengers are made to sit in overcrowded lounges where you might not even get the chance of being seated, the first class treatment on the other end is a striking difference. The luxurious lounges at the airport ensure a delightful stay; comfortable seating, marvelous cuisine and services like spa. These pleasing facilities can only be enjoyed by flying first class.
Most of the first class vs. economy debate revolves around space. Passengers are mostly ready to compromise over a lot of factors, but not when it comes to personal space. The airplanes differ according to the distance of the flight. However, one thing stays stagnant. Economy class flights have limited space, congested seating arrangement offering less personal space and limited space to move around. When it comes to first class, whether it’s a short or a long-haul flight, the first striking difference is surely a much greater space offered to the first class passenger. For many travelers it’s all about the seat, it suites the first class passengers perfectly. The enlarged cabin sizes, more leg space, optimum privacy and the chance to change the comfortable seat into a flatbed are some of the perks only the first class passengers experience.
The difference in food is clear enough between both the classes, although it doesn’t bother everyone equally. While the first class passengers enjoy the choice of multiple meals and a variety of choices, the presentation is also perfected for them. Most of the economy class passengers would be offered food in disposable packaging rather than luxurious tableware. The choice of food is also extremely limited. First class passengers are also offered other facilities such as better entertainment screens, more outlets to charge gadgets and far more superior drinks. In economy class, one can only dream of such perks.
The choice of first class vs. economy is merely based on personal preferences. Despite the striking difference between both of the classes and the price, you can ask for upgrades at the airport. Registering yourself to the frequent flier programs of the airline can prove to become beneficial. Using your air mile is the best way to fly first class in your budget.
